Terms of Service
Last updated: 23 August 2026
Welcome to Foundly — the local founder network. These terms govern your use of the Foundly website, apps and services (“Foundly”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using Foundly you agree to these terms.
1. Who can use Foundly
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must provide accurate information about yourself and keep it up to date.
- One account per person. Accounts are personal and may not be shared or transferred.
2. What Foundly is
Foundly helps founders discover each other, connect, message, and meet in person at member-hosted meetups. Meetups are organised by members, not by Foundly — we don't operate, supervise or guarantee any event.
3. Your conduct
- Be respectful. Harassment, hate speech, threats and discrimination are not tolerated.
- No spam, pyramid schemes, unsolicited mass outreach or scraping of member data.
- No impersonation, false claims about your business, or fraudulent activity.
- Content you post (profile, posts, comments, messages) must be yours to share and lawful.
We may remove content, restrict features, suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules, at our discretion. You can report members or posts from within the app; every report is reviewed.
4. Meeting in person — safety
Use common sense when meeting people from the internet: meet in public places, tell someone where you're going, and trust your instincts. You attend meetups at your own risk. Foundly is not responsible for what happens at member-organised events.
5. PRO subscription & payments
- Foundly PRO is a paid upgrade (R199.00 for 30 days) processed securely by Paystack. We never see or store your card details.
- PRO is activated once payment is confirmed and runs for 30 days. It does not auto-renew unless stated otherwise at checkout.
- Payments are non-refundable except where required by law (including the South African Consumer Protection Act).
6. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you post. You grant us a licence to host, display and share it within Foundly so the service can work (e.g. showing your profile to other members). Delete your content or account at any time — see the Privacy Policy for how deletion works.
7. Termination
You can delete your account any time from My Profile → Danger zone. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or the law. Sections that by their nature survive termination (e.g. limitation of liability) continue to apply.
8. Disclaimers
Foundly is provided “as is”. We don't guarantee uninterrupted service, that you'll make useful connections, or the accuracy of member-provided information. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
9. Changes
We may update these terms as Foundly evolves. Material changes are announced in-app. Continuing to use Foundly after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
10. Governing law & contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Questions? Contact the platform administrator via the app or the contact email published on the site.
